My name is Kate Winter, but my nickname is Bims (hence BimsWinter!) and I am a Personal Trainer, Yoga Teacher and Nutritional Advisor based in the beautiful city of Brighton in the United Kingdom. I provide One-to-One Personal Training, and bespoke Training and Nutrition plans, for clients in the UK and overseas.
So, in a world of thousands of qualified Personal Trainers, what makes me different?
Most importantly, I understand my clients, because I have walked their path. I’ve been the overweight girl living the Pinot Grigio and cheesy chips diet every Friday, Saturday (and often Wednesday) night. But, I’ve also been the girl who ditched that lifestyle in favour of far too many hours in the gym and extreme food restriction, which spiralled into an eating disorder and long term inpatient treatment for Anorexia Nervosa. I have lived both extremes, and eventually found my happy medium. I therefore bring an unrivalled sense of empathy to my working relationships with clients, and feel that this is key in helping us to achieve incredible, yet sustainable, results.
I am not a one-trick pony, and I have a breadth of fitness knowledge and experience way beyond the scope of a Level 3 Personal Trainer. In 2016 I competed in two Bikini competitions, taking away two top three trophies as a Bikini Competitor and Fitness Model. In 2013 I ran the Brighton Marathon in 3 hours 45 minutes. I am a qualified Spin, Circuits and Kettlebell instructor, and also teach a weekly meditation class.
I personally have a daily mediation and yoga practice, and you will often see me weaving elements of this into personal training and online coaching. This range of experience means that, whether you are taking part in an endurance race, would like to get in shape for a holiday or simply learn to become more mindful, I am able to help you achieve your goal.
I have life experience. Before qualifying as a Personal Trainer I worked in a very stressful and demanding public sector job. I understand what it is like to try and balance a full time job, shift work, family life and a social life alongside your health and fitness goals. It isn’t easy, but by working with me I can reduce some of that stress, and help you achieve your goals without compromising on the other important areas of your life.
I love food. And red wine. You’ll never see me giving out generic, cookie cutter meal plans. I treat each client as individuals, and provide nutritional advice that takes into account their personal preference, lifestyle and any intolerances. I know that it is possible to be fit, healthy and look good naked without sacrificing that Krispy Kreme donut or delicious glass of champagne.
I worked with Kate online, as unfortunately I’m not in U.K. (if I was I would have loved to of trained with her too). First off I was inspired by her own personal story and journey on Instagram. So I contacted Kate and she was happy to work with me. The plan was easy to follow and delicious. She was also on call for words of support and the occasion ‘trust me’ when things got tough. I hope that we can work together again in the future, Thanks Kate!Victoria
So, in a nutshell, I’ve lived hard, trained smart and eaten well, and now use this experience to help change lives.

Yet again I find myself kicking off a new blog post with an apology for my radio silence. Taking the time to sit and write seems to be proving difficult, as I ponder over what my intention and driving factors are. Since my last blog post I have committed to writing a...read more
When I moved back to Brighton in October of last year my yoga practice was sporadic, to say the least. I had moved from Warwickshire, where I had a fairly regular Ashtanga practice at a wonderful local studio ('Stone Monkey', run by Digby Platt in Leamington Spa) and...read more
